Miguel Company left Cuba in 1962 when the Castro regime offered no opportunity for anyone under communism. The legendary luthier David Rubio studied with Miguel Company in Miami, before he went to New York in 1964 to open his shop there. By 1965 Rubio was fabricating guitars for Julian Bream, that the virtuoso used on his LP recordings immediately. Manuel Barrueco used a guitar made by Miguel Company, before using a 1972 Robert Ruck to make his 1st LP recording. Miguel Company also built steel guitars for the folksingers and recording artists Fred Neil and David Crosby. Personal Note: I did own a 1972 David Rubio guitar, 30 years ago in 1987.
Excellent condition, no cracks.
