It has a very Fine to Medium grain German Spruce Soundboard with beautiful Brazilian Rosewood back and sides.7 smoothly sanded Fan braces. Separate kerfing pieces attaching the Soundboard and the back to the sides. All solid wood. Loud open clear tone, concert quality. Carved Ebony head stock overlay. One piece neck, head stock and heel.
Carlos Di Fulvio is a great guitarist and folk singer in Argentina, he has recorded with guitars made by these brothers from Granada, Spain. On You Tube you can hear him sing "DE REGRESO SIMPLEMENTE", where he accompanies himself with one of these rare guitars.
Antonio Ortiz Romero was born in Granada in 1933. These 3 brothers are 3rd generation luthiers, their grandfather, Francisco Ortiz Diaz, having been born in 1880. Santos Hernandez is the inspiration of all three brothers. Francisco and Antonio each began working with their father, Francisco Ortiz Garcia, at the age of 10 years of age. They also fabricate, Violins, Violas, Cellos, Double Basses as well as Bandurrias and Laudes.
Francisco Ortiz Romero was born in Granada in 1930.
Jose Ortiz Romero was born in Granada in 1940.
