657 mm Scale, 53 mm Nut. Very very fine grain - 40+ grains to the inch Solid Spruce Soundboard, and Solid Cypress back and sides. Ebony Fretboard. Beautifully carved headstock with Brazilian Rosewood peghead overlay. Five Fan Braces, supporting the soundboard and directing the tone. Original Bone Nut, New saddle. Separate kerfing pieces attaching the top to the sides and a single cut kerfing liner attaching the the back to the sides -Deluxe lutherie. French Polish. By 1955 Javier Cayuela had moved his shop to his new address at No. 11 de la Ronda de San Pablo, but this loud and very resonant guitar was made in his 2nd workshop at No. 4 de la Calle Pino, Andújar, Spain.
Deluxe engraved Fustero Gears that work fine. Comes with a Casa Damas Case. This is the most Deluxe model to have come into our shop by this maker, since the late 1980's when out first opportunity took place.
Beginning in 1949 at his 1st location, as he continued to develop his craft, he took advice from several of the best luthiers in Spain including Miguel Rodríguez, Manuel Reyes and José Ramírez. In February 2012, the Andújar City Council, in recognition of a lifetime dedicated to guitar crafts, honored Javier Cayuela with a street name in the municipality. The workshop continues to this day as the craft had been handed down first to his son Juan Luis Cayuela Bachiller (also a performer) and grandson, Moisés Cayuela Rubio.
