Violins: 1880 Neuner and Hornsteiner
Neuner and Hornsteiner
$10,000
Ludwig Neuner worked for J. B. Vuillaume in Paris for 7 years from 1859 to 1866, then returned to Mittenwald, Germany and opened his own shop.
Lob 355 mm. Spectacular sound for an instrument in its price range. Some owners of Italian violins are very impressed with its resonance, when visiting the shop. This violin has a new set of Ebony pegs. Fine to Medium grain Spruce Soundboard. Highly Flamed Maple one piece back, sides, neck and scroll.
The varnish was stripped, but it sounds great.
