Andreas Morelli

$9,000

Great sounding instrument used in the Pasadena Coleman Chamber Music Orchestra in 1953. It has 1,000s of hours of tonal development and volume. It's as if you were 20 feet down into a cave. As it says on the label, it is a reproduction of a Antonio Stradivari viola, and above that handwritten is "Professional Model". Beautiful Spruce Soundboard and One Piece Highly Flamed Maple Back and Sides. It is fully blocked and lined. This marvelous Viola is from the collection of the 1920 Edison Record label Recording Artist Vera Barstow (1893-1975).

In "The Violinist" magazine of November of 1922, is a photo of Vera Barstow and her 1734 Guadanini, and a short article about her career.

No cracks, the pegs were rebushed in the 1940's-so they work excellently. It has a New set of Obligato Strings mounted on it. Original Ebony Pegs, Fingerboard, Nut and Tailpiece.
