645 MM Scale 52 mm Nut. Fine to Medium Spruce Soundboard (Lots of Hazel Fichte also known as Bear Claw Marks.) and Brazilian Rosewood back and sides. Signed on the label and underneath the top, Warren White, San Francisco 1968. Juan Serrano, who was recording for RCA at this time used a Flamenco guitar by Warren White, so did Benito Palacios, who performed in Los Angeles and also taught aficionados there. Both their names as endorsements were in the Vitali catalog since the late 1960's. According to Gerald J. Bakus on page 105 of his book: The Spanish Guitar, published in 1977 by the Gothic Press in Los Angeles, he states Warren White was considered one of the best guitar makers in the USA. The late George Peacock, who had studied with Warren, told me in the 1990's that, Warren White spent 2 weeks to make the intricate Flowers Rosette, featured on this guitar. George pulled a version of the Flowers Rosette out of a drawer at his work bench and said: "Warren spent 2 weeks to make this rosette, later other luthiers copied it."
