Paul Mangenot French Cello

$12,000

4/4 Cello

LOB 29 3/8" 746 mm. This 1932 Paul Mangenot French 4/4 Cello made in Mirecourt, France is "very loud" to quote a long time colleague of mine. The resonance is developed through the workmanship and generations of luthiers who trained their pupils to build the best they could, evidenced in this fine instrument. There is a secondary label viewable in the Treble F hole. It says: "Gran Prix Exposition Coloniale Paris 1931" that means Grand Prize winner in a National Exposition of lutherie.

There are no cracks in the Spruce soundboard nor the Maple back and sides. It retains its Original French Polish. It has new Ebony pegs, a New Deluxe Aubert Belgian Style Bridge, fitted with a New Akusticus Tailpiece, as well as a new End Pin. It has Larsen Strings ($491.00) mounted on it, highly valued by Professionals around the world.
