Laurindo Almeida owned a Spruce and Indian Rosewood Classical Guitar made by Vicente Solis Garcia in 1953 and used it for his Capitol LP "The Guitar Worlds of Laurindo Almeida". According to Gerald J. Bakus on page 105 of his book: The Spanish Guitar, published in 1977 by the Gothic Press in Los Angeles, he states that Vicente Solis Garcia was considered one of the best guitar makers in Mexico City, along with Geronimo Villafan.
