Here's a quote from an old Japanese guitar magazine: This article titled “José Yacopi and other luthiers” is from the Japanese guitar magazine "Armonia", issue No. 5 of September-October 1954. It was written by the editor Dr. Isao Takahashi of Sakamoto, Japan. Japanese translation by Randy Osborne. "The two piece soundboard guitars by France’s well known Gelas (Even Iwao Takamine has one), long ago even Llobet, Germany’s Heinrich Albert’s recommended them but, today they are scarcely used."
