The Label Text is: Lewis Artist Violin. Stradivarius Model. Expressly made for Wm. Lewis and Son, Chicago. by WILHELM DUERER in Eisleban anno (handwritten in ink is 1912) It retains its original varnish, Ebony Fingerboard, End Pin and Pegs, Tailpiece and a set of Vision G, D, and A strings with a Lenzner E string. This has a New Deluxe Aubert bridge mounted on it. When playing it you hear that it has a very well developed tone and lots of volume, quite a bit of character.
This German Violin made in Eisleban is in almost new condition, being very well cared for by its previous owners. It has a Fine to Medium grain Spruce soundboard and a beautiful two piece Flamed Maple back and sides. The beautiful scroll is complete.
