This Vintage German Violin weighs 16.5 ounces, the finest grain Spruce top (43 grains to the inch-no Medium grains anywhere) and a Flamed Maple Two Piece back. The flame on the neck matches that on the sides as well. It has the original Ebony pegs and Tailpiece and a New Fingerboard. It has a well executed scroll. The 4 corner blocks have the same fine grains as the soundboard. This is signed and dated 1863-the signature is difficult to read without removing the soundboard, though the date written in pen is easy to read. It has New Obligato Strings mounted on it, as wells as a New Deluxe Aubert Bridge mounted on it.
