From the weekly magazine: "Cronica de la musica" December 25, 1879 n. 66 page 4. This is from an article "Carta de Valencia": Letter from Valencia.
"In the new society "El Iris", with the object of providing pleasant solace to the families of the members, concerts will be held weekly that will give the desired result. But what is truly remarkable about them is the surprising abilities that a young guitarist, Mr. Martinez Toboso, is demonstrating. Without exaggerating the praise, he is a worthy emulator of Huerta, Arcas and others who are no less celebrated.
Every night that he plays he receives an ovation, and on the last night he received from the president of the society a very rich crown that is a true work of art."
